Melt Organics in Australia is gearing up with Major charities to run in store promotions where each purchase will result in a donation to that Charity.

These promotions will run in place of simple price dropping promotions and are to both satisfy the needs of the larger retailers and to really make a difference at the same time.

How it Works

During a promotion a donation of 10 cents will be made for every QR code that is scanned by the client. The QR code can only be scanned once to facilitate the donation.

In addition to the donation the end user will be given a Scratch off on their phone providing them a chance to win a prize.

The QR code will be placed onto the product under a peel off label.

The idea of providing a donation for every purchase is not a new idea, however, the mechanism we will be employing adds a media rich element and adds Gamification.

If you have an iPhone 6 or later it is built in to your camera app – juts open the camera – point it at the QR code and select the Safari Link that pops up.

If you have an Android you may need to install a free app though many of the newer androids are following suit with the iphones and having the app built into the camera app.
